Sunshade

Grass Type: 80% Kentucky Bluegrass, 20% Chewings fescue

Designed for those hard to grow areas, Sunshade Canberra Mix produces an older style fine lawn and is recommended for the shadier parts of the garden or for oversowing an existing lawn struggling under trees.

Prestige Green

Grass type: 80% Fine Rye-Grass, 20% Kentucky Bluegrass

Prestige Green is a fine textured lawn and may require a higher level of maintenance than Rough and Tumble or Hardy Green. It is ideally suited to a prestigious front lawn if given regular water and fertiliser. Prestige Green’s high quality has been instrumented in being used many Golf Courses including Royal Canberra and Moss Vale. This seed mix is the same as our Penturf blend of turf.

Rough and Tumble

Grass type: 71% Tall Fine Fescue, 24% Kentucky Bluegrass, 5% O’Connor’s Strawberry Clover

Rough & Tumble Alturf mix is the most popular mix for the Canberra and surrounding areas. Rough and Tumble is a hard wearing, drought and scarab resistant mix, well suited to back yards, ovals, playgrounds and commercial areas. The O’Connor’s Strawberry Clover discourages scarab grubs and provides a natural source of nitrogen for the other grasses. Tall Fescue is slightly courser than the other cool season grasses but is the most drought tolerant. This blend is the same as our Canberra Blend with clover blend of turf.

Hardy Green

Grass type: 75% Tall Fine Fescue, 25% Kentucky Bluegrass

Hardy Green is similar to Rough & Tumble but without the O’Connor’s Strawberry Clover in the mix.
This lawn is well suited to those areas where appearance is important but still requires a drought resistant, hardwearing lawn.
The Kentucky Bluegrass provides good colour as well as an ability to repair damaged areas by self propagating.
This blend is the same as our Canberra Blend turf mix.

Grow Green +

Grow Green + is based on an organic product called Mother Earth and othe BFA approved organic material making it environmentally friendly.

Regular application of a quality fertiliser is essential for a vigorous and healthy home lawn, fertiliser will assist with lush colour, continued root development and ongoing maintenance of your lawn. Fertilising with Canturf Grow Green will also ensure your lawn will be more able to combat weed infestation, scarab attack and fungus. Grow Green has been formulated especially to provide a healthy balance of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and essential trace elements. Being a rich mixture of elements such as urea, sulphate of potash, sulphur, calcium, magnesium, iron and boron Grow Green has a N:P:K ratio of N10.9:P1.7: K8.9

Once a lawn is established it has little need for phosphorous, the main reason for the appearance of Blue Green Algae in the Murrumbidgee River. For this reason Grow Green has a deliberately low level of phosphorous.

For continued lawn maintenance the secret of good fertilising is to apply lightly but frequently or “less more often”, to ensure a balance of nutrients and trace elements in the soil. For a healthy lawn apply Grow Green at a rate of 35 grams per square meter three times during each growing season as indicated under on going maintenance.

Grow Green + now comes in a 900g bucket which covers 25m square, a 3Kg bucket which covers 85m square, a 7Kg bucket which covers 200m square and 20Kg bags which covers 572m square.

Lawn Starter

A good quality Lawn Starter fertiliser is essential for good seed germination and turf establishment. The germinating seed requires a lot of nutrients to survive and grow. Canturf’s Lawn Starter is based on a product called Nutri Smart which increases soil microbial activity that in turn promotes strong healthy root establishment and the utilisation of any nutrients already present or actually locked up in the soil. In addition Canturf Seed Starter also provides the essential trace elements and high levels of phosphorous required for seed establishment and rapid root growth.

Lawn Starter now comes in a convenient 7Kg bucket which covers 140m square.

Santa Ana Couch

Santa Ana is extremely hard wearing and tolerates considerable traffic. It is perfect for hot north facing situations

Santa Ana is a medium vigour creeping perennial with above ground runners that can be maintained in a given area by bordering.

Santa Ana has a bright green leaf colour and good colour retention giving it a superior appearance. It does however go dormant during the cold winter months, during which the turf will discolour.

The amount of discolouration will depend on the severity of the winter.

Warm Climate grasses should only be laid during the warmer months (i.e. September through to April).

Canturf Canberra Blend with Clover

All the benefits of Canturf’s popular Canberra Blend, but with even less ongoing maintenance. The inclusion of O’Conner’s Strawberry Clover automatically adds nitrogen to your soil and helps to deter scarab grub.

Canturf Canberra Blend

Our most popular variety, Canturf Canberra Blend is grown right here in Canberra and thrives where other lawns in our region typically fail. In fact it was specifically developed to withstand our harsh climate of extreme temperatures and frosts. It stays green all year round and does not ‘brown off’ over winter like some warmer climate grasses do — and because it is grown locally, you can be sure that it won’t be affected by climate variations and transportation stress. What you see growing on our farm in Fyshwick is what you’ll be getting!

All Canturf is fully matured for at least 12 months, and is delivered to you fresh and ready to lay ‘instantly’. It’s suitable for almost any site — level or sloped — and can be successfully laid any time of year. It feels soft underfoot and yet withstands the rigorous demands of an active outdoor lifestyle.

If you want a lawn that’s built for the Canberra climate and looks great all year round, Canturf Canberra Blend is hard to beat.
